Hello,
No. If you have an existing router on the network, you can connect your Velop node using an ethernet cable and set the node in DHCP or Bridge Mode. You can also add child nodes that repeat the signal of the first or parent node.

Connect the primary Velop node which is usually indicated as Node 1, to your existing router https://www.tp-link.com/ph/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-ax55/ using an Ethernet cable. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports on your existing router and the other end into the Ethernet port on the Velop node. Power on the Velop node and wait for it to boot up. The LED light on the node should turn solid purple, indicating that it's ready for setup.
