When I was about 13 or 14 along with my best friend Steve Adam we formed a HO slot car club in Reading, MA. We called the club HORROR and race every Saturday afternoon. We put fliers up in the local hobby shops to try and grow the club. One Saturday two "old" guys showed up one was Tom Gray and the other was Bruce. Steve and I formed a friendship with both and as we were young they took use under their wings and took us to races all over the New England area. As we got older the HO scene in New England dried up and Steve and I did other things and lost track of Tom and Bruce. Moving forward to about 1981 along with Steve we caught the bug again and through a co-worker at GE, Dave Haskell, we started racing again at Dave's track in Beverly. The following year we founded MARC, and the cycle started again. We placed a flier at the local hobby shop and we calls but Tom and at the next race Tom and Bruce showed up and a our friendship renewed. I will says as my family grow I no longer had time to go racing but Bruce and Tom have had an influence in my life. Bruce may you race in peace.
