Just before the start of his ninth NFL season
Youth Dion Phaneuf Jersey , Eric Decker has decided to call it a career.
Decker, a wide receiver who signed with the Patriots this offseason but appeared unlikely to make the 53-man roster, wrote on Instagram today that he is retiring.
“It has been my childhood dream and my passion to play the game of football Radim Vrbata Jersey ,” Decker wrote. “I was very fortunate and blessed to have had the opportunity to have those dreams fulfilled and to have played with such extremely talented and hard-working teammates, coaches and staff. This has been a passion inside of me since I was a little boy but I know now it is time to hang up my helmet and start a new chapter in my life. I love football and always will. It will continue to be a part of my life.”
A 2010 third-round draft pick out of Minnesota, Decker spent his first four NFL seasons with the Broncos before playing three with the Jets Martin Frk Jersey , and then signing with the Titans for one year in 2017.
The Browns had first dibs on any of the players placed on waivers around the league on Saturday and they used it to add five new players to their roster.
Four of the five players are on the defensive side of the ball. They added former Ravens defensive tackle Carl Davis, former Vikings defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo, former Cardinals defensive back Tavierre Thomas and former Bills linebacker Tanner Vallejo.
Davis was a 2015 third-round pick and played in 28 games over the last three seasons. Odenigbo was a seventh-round pick last year and some felt he had a good shot at making the team in Minnesota before landing on the waiver wire. Vallejo played 15 games last year after being drafted in the sixth round while Thomas was an undrafted free agent this year.
The Browns also claimed former Rams center Aaron Neary.
The full list of players who will be dropped to make room is not yet available Alexander Kerfoot Jersey , but Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that center Austin Reiter will be released.
