After debuting earlier this spring to a warm reception, the ladies-only casual silhouette turned the heat up for the summer, with adidas enlisting Kylie Jenner to serve as its new face. Of course endorsements only matter if the product itself is well-done — and the Falcon is certainly that, having released in a multitude of eye-catching colorways. Its sleek-but-retro look is perfectly in tune with the current fashion climate, and now it’s surfaced in a brand new “Collegiate Navy” makeup, complete with a plentiful helping of metallic patent leather detailing.

A toned-down navy mesh serves as the base, while the overlays opt for a loud look: the aforementioned patent leather arrives in ocean blue on the forefoot and heel, bronze on the eyestays, red on the tongue, and rich purple around the collar and heel. 

Despite striking gold with BOOST only a few years ago and continuing a long trend of adding the innovative technology to its many classic runners, adidas has begun to move past the famed sole unit to infuse its heritage into a modern line-up of models. Much like the YUNG-1, the Adidas Continental 80 Black incorporates intricate paneling with an aggressive midsole that borders the line between tech and retro. Opting for a much cleaner palette this time around, the newest addition features an overall white colorway across the upper and midsole while hits of a muted orange and sky blue adorn the lower heel and adidas branding. 

Now the colorful combinations are continuing on into the cold season — and the latest Adidas Continental 80 White colorway to surface certainly carries the torch for the line, as it’s dressed with dashing silver accents. A combination of simple bone-colored mesh/leather and a dark grey leather heel piece make up the shoe’s base, while the colorful accents arrive via shimmering silver leather overlays offset by a small patch of fuschia-colored suede on the lateral forefoot. A two-tone white and grey outsole then completes the shoe’s look.
